2021年5月22日，中國駐澳大利亞使館公眾號發布駐澳大利亞使館發言人表態：

　我們對澳大利亞外長5月21日發表的有關聲明表示遺憾。中方已多次就有關澳大利亞公民個案闡明立場。中國司法機關依法辦案，並充分保障有關人員各項合法權利。澳方應切實尊重中國司法主權，不得以任何形式干預中國司法機關依法辦案。

　The statement by the Australian foreignminister on 21 May 2021 is deplorable. China has repeatedly made clear itsposition on the case concerning relevant Australian citizen. Chinese judicialauthorities handle the case strictly in accordance with law and fully protectthe lawful rights of the relevant person. TheAustralian side should respectChina’s judicial sovereignty and refrain from interfering in any form inChinese judicial authorities’ lawful handling of the case.
