9月21日晚，中國香港青年代表、新界青年聯會主席譚鎮國在聯合國人權理事會第51屆會議上視頻發言。他指出，近期一些西方政客無端指責香港警方依照香港國安法採取的執法行動，這是荒謬可笑的。事實上，國安法實施和完善選舉制度後，港人的權利和自由得到了更好保障。

　以下是譚鎮國發言全文：

　The Hong Kong Police Force recently arrested certain members of the Hong Kong Journalists Association for suspected violation of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Not surprisingly a few US politicians and their western followers reacted angrily, using press freedom as pretext for unfounded accusations, such as “free press is dying in Hong Kong.” That is as preposterous and laughable as all the other lies they have been spreading since the above-mentioned national security law took effect on June 30, 2020.  

　As a matter of fact, protection of individual rights in Hong Kong has been better since the enactment of the national security law and the improvement of the electoral system to ensure “patriots administering Hong Kong”. As a member of the youth community in Hong Kong I have witnessed unprecedented unity of Hong Kong society and people’s determination to pursue a better life. On behalf of Hong Kong youths I hereby declare our commitment to upholding the “one country, two systems” principle and safeguarding national security, so as to ensure lasting prosperity and stability in Hong Kong.

　香港警方近期以涉嫌違反《中華人民共和國香港特別行政區維護國家安全法》逮捕了香港記者協會的某些成員。毫不奇怪，一些美國政客和他們的西方追隨者作出「憤怒的反應」，以新聞自由為藉口進行毫無根據的指責，譬如聲稱「香港的新聞自由正在消失」。這與他們自2020年6月30日香港國安法生效後所散布的其他謊言如出一轍，都是荒謬可笑的。

　事實上，自香港國安法實施和完善特區選舉制度以確保「愛國者治港」以來，港人的權利和自由得到了更好保障。作為一名香港青年，我目睹社會的空前團結，感受到人們追求美好生活的決心。在此，我想代表香港青年申明：我們將致力於維護「一國兩制」方針，維護國家安全，以確保香港長期的繁榮穩定。
