Hello, everyone! I am Eric Tse from Hong Kong, China. Today, I am honored to be here and share with you the true situation of Hong Kong's recovery in governance and economy after the implementation of the National Security Law, as well as the protection of human rights, based on my personal experiences and observations.

    Hong Kong is the place where I grew up and the beloved home that I cherish deeply. However, in the second half of 2019, Hong Kong experienced some heartbreaking incidents that severely damaged the rule of law, social order, and economic development, as well as infringed upon the safety of citizens' lives, property, and basic human rights.

    In order to safeguard national security and stability in Hong Kong, the Central Government of China enacted and implemented the National Security Law in 2020. Over the past three years, I have deeply felt the positive changes that the National Security Law has brought to Hong Kong. I have personally witnessed Hong Kong's transformation from turmoil and unrest to peace and order, and from decline and stagnation to recovery and progress. I have also felt the increasing sense of identification and belonging among the citizens towards the country, as well as the growing trust and support for the principle of "One Country, Two Systems" and the Basic Law.

    In the first quarter of this year, Hong Kong's economy grew by 2.7%, demonstrating a clear overall recovery trend. As a young adult, I have also keenly felt the care and support that the Central Government has provided for the development of Hong Kong's youth. In major strategies such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction and the Belt and Road Initiative, the Central Government has provided us with broad development opportunities. Platforms and programs such as the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub and the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Scheme in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have offered us preferential policies and the best entrepreneurial environment.

    Today, Hong Kong remains a land where investors from around the world thrive and settle, and it continues to be one of the freest and most competitive economies globally.
