 Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, Shenzhen has developed rapidly, creating a great miracle that makes the world look at it with new eyes. Shenzhen today is the epitome and witness of the significant historical change and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Through the sharing of compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan areas of China and the sharing of international friends, this column tells about their experiences and feelings of studying, working, living and starting a business in Shenzhen.  品牌的整體風格,往往與企業管理者的經營理念息息相關。於戴爲紅木總裁戴愛國而言,東方文化的精髓在於化繁爲簡,在意境,於留白,在淡妝勝濃抹的低調內斂。他所創辦的戴爲紅木,即是在中式傳統開始在家具行業復興的年代誕生的。

 因父親從事紅木家具行業,在香港出生、成長的戴愛國從小耳濡目染,對紅木家具設計一直十分癡迷。上世紀90年代初,戴愛國跟隨家族人員在深圳開辦紅木家具廠,以代加工爲主,産品銷往中國台灣、日本和美國市場,賺取了人生第一桶金。2011年,在紅木家具行業打拼近二十年的戴愛國考慮到品牌的重要性及打造品牌的良辰佳期,從家族企業中獨立出來,創立了弘開實業有限公司,並開始運營公司旗下的品牌「戴爲紅木」。

 在戴爲紅木創建之初,戴愛國迅速明確了自己的定位——公司總設計師。戴爲紅木的每一項産品從設計到最後成型,戴愛國無不親力親爲。在現代很多消費者的印象裏,紅木家具雖然代表着傳統、貴重,但還是與過時與老氣的格調相關聯。爲了能獲得年輕消費者的認可,戴爲紅木經過多年摸索洞察到一個道理:在傳承傳統的基礎上必須求變求新,必須賦予紅木家具新的時尚氣息和文化內涵。

 Dai Aiguo: seek change and new ideas, seek promising future

 The overall style of the brand is often closely related to the management concept of entrepreneurs.

 For Dai Aiguo, the President of Tai Wai Redwood, the essence of oriental culture lies in simplification, context, and restraining. The Tai Wai Redwood founded by Dai was born when Chinese traditions began to revive in the furniture industry.

 As his father was engaged in the redwood furniture industry, Dai, born and raised in Hong Kong, was very absorbed in the design of redwood furniture since he was a child. In the early 1990s, Dai followed family members to set up a redwood furniture factory in Shenzhen, mainly serving as an original equipment manufacturer. The products were sold to the Taiwan area of China, Japan, and the United States. That was how he earned the first pot of gold in life. In 2011, Dai, who has been strived for nearly 20 years in the redwood furniture industry, was independent from the family enterprise after considering the importance and the excellent time to build a brand. He founded Hongkai Industrial Co., Ltd. and began to operate the brand, Tai Wai Redwood.

 At the beginning of the establishment of Tai Wai Redwood, Dai Aiguo quickly defined his position as the chief designer of the company. He participated in producing all the Tai Wai's products in person, from the original design to final molding. In the impression of many modern consumers, redwood furniture, although representing tradition and value, is still related to the outdated and old style. To get the recognition of young consumers, Tai Wai Redwood has experienced a truth after many years of exploration: It is a must to seek change and innovation based on inheriting the tradition to give new fashion and cultural connotation to redwood furniture.

 From product design to exhibition hall display, from process innovation to management innovation, from market development to brand building, Tai Wai Redwood became famous in just a few years. It has established nearly 100 sales outlets in the first and second-tier cities of China, and quickly completed the strategic layout of the Chinese market, and became one of the largest and influential high-end redwood furniture brands in China. With the fierce market competition, Dai Wei Redwood also quickly formulated two strategies, refined production strategy and high-end brand strategy, and gradually shifted from product competition to comprehensive strength competition, winning a good reputation with fantastic performance. Up to now, Dai Wei Redwood, as a famous product enterprise with identification of star-quality rating, not only participates in the formulation of industry standards but also has made a public appearance in the Great Hall of the People, the permanent site of Hainan Boao Forum for Asia, the venue of G20 summit in Hangzhou, the BRICs meeting site in Xiamen and the host place of the World Military Games, which has made a voice for the contemporary oriental aesthetics and has become a famous name card for Shenzhen innovation. At the same time, to make redwood furniture go global, international friends are often invited to visit the living hall of Tai Wai to feel the charm of Chinese traditional furniture culture at close range. Tai Wei has become a powerful emissary of Chinese and Western cultural friendship.

 Dai Aiguo has a deep feeling for the changes in Shenzhen for decades. At first, he chose to operate his business in Shenzhen because he was optimistic about the domestic market and wanted to reduce costs. Today, Shenzhen has significant resource advantages and good opportunities and also brings a new chance to Dai' cause. In Dai's view, Shenzhen is a city of innovation and openness. It is very active, which has attracted people from all walks of life. Talents are allowed to stay in Shenzhen because of the city's inclusion and government services. This also makes Dai full of expectations for the future: In the era of the Greater Bay Area, the advantages of Hong Kong and Shenzhen should be actively combined so that young and excellent designers from all over the world can strengthen communication and exchange, further break the design boundary, bring more possibilities for the appearance and performance of products, and help Chinese redwood to move towards a vast world market with Chinese elements and high spirit of the new era.
